- I started playing poker at Mandalay Bay in 2002 and because of Wayne's professional and friendly service I have remained a fan/supporter of this poker room. There has been a significant turn over of Dealers at Mandalay Bay over the years and a majority of the newer Dealers have been welcomed to the table by me and performed very well.
- I started playing poker at Mandalay Bay in. Est2003 wrote a review about Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, NV 5 4 3 2 1.
Mandalay Bay has your favorite Hold'em Games and will spread other games on request. We have three daily Poker Tournaments and offer group tournaments. And if you're just learning the game, we offer free lessons.
the poker room here is nice, but I agree with other reviewers - tables are a little old, chairs aren't that great, etc...however, the resort it's located in is about the best for non-smokers (you know what I'm talking about)...at some casino's I feel like I'm losing months off my life from all the 2nd hand smoke, but the ventilation and high ceilings at the Mandalay Bay make for a very pleasant playing environment. One warning about temperature - casino seems fine walking around...but if you're going to sit and play poker for a while - best to wear some warmer clothing.
I rated this 'Average' but would have given it a 3.3-3.5 rating if able. There is a good mix of players, some crazy high volatility players, some solid locals, and some very casual players. If you pay attention you can within 15-30 minutes figure out who is who and then play accordingly. I consider myself an average to perhaps intermediate player (and that's a stretch)...I've read a couple books, watch poker on TV and play in a home game a week...nothing crazy or anything. Over 4 days in this poker room I didn't have one losing session; not one. I definitely recommend playing at night - during the day, games seem tougher...at night much more casual players are present.
Most dealers good, very fast and efficient making for high amount of hands per hour; however there were some dealers who very fairly slow which made the game drag a little.

Service was good when you could locate a cocktail waitress. A couple times I had to have the card room staff call for a waitress because they were unseen for over 30 minutes.
I think that the management of the room was average to good. Some front 'reception' staff were good, others were not to be found for several minutes...overall, this was not a negative for me...but not a positive either.

Hated having to sign in/out on index cards for comps...one time I played for about 3 hours and forgot to sign out...bye bye comps on that one.
Some 10 man tables. Some only 9... But the 10 man's are mostly used... that's a good thing !!! Casino has feeling of high class. Makes you feel good.
Somewhat tough competition, but the great promotions more than make up for it.
I have to say most are excellent. I really like Chris & Silvia.
I'm totally Okay with it

They have the best promotions. I'd say it's all in the management. They've got to be the best Managers.
The Jackpots are Wonderful !!! They cator to the 'Cash Players'. They don't waste the promotional dollars on Bad-Beat Jackpots & Free Rolls, etc. that you never win anyway... But you will LOVE the Large High Hand Payouts... Plus the Fantastic Tierred Bonuses on Mondays and Thursdays where if you Flop it you get $500 extra. $250 extra if you Turn it. And even $125 extra if you get it on the River. Most of the time the Quads pay about $100-$200... sometimes can be more... up to $500 I think it is. After witnessing that, I can't afford to waste my promotional dollars anywhere else where they water it down with Free-Rolls & Bad-Beat Jackpots... It just takes away all the value for somebody from Kansas or something to take away All the Money. Mandalay Bay is the BEST !!! It puts the money right back on the tables and keeps you hoping, and Winning !
